The Northcliffe – Photography Workshop

I was privileged to manage a photography workshop at The Northcliffe, early December 2024. This resulted in some fabulous photographs. Some can be seen here (photographs of photographers by Jason Sayer of Architecture Today).

We started proceedings with the MD Enzo Favro introducing In Opera, he then passed to Karin Skoglund, their A&D Materials Consultant, who gave more detail about stone & terrazzo.

Etain Fitzpatrick of John Robertson Architects gave an insightful presentation. She spoke about the history of the building as well as the design and importance of retrofit. The building has a strong pattern element and this is echoed in the In Opera terrazzo floor throughout the reception area.

The geometric pattern on the terrazzo floor was a feature of the winning photograph by Jason Sayer

The final speaker was architectural photographer Timothy Soar , he described how he would approach photography of the building. This inspired a fantastic set of images, and interesting discussions.

It was a great day in a fantastic building, which everyone loved.
